Prompting the CHGDOMSVR Command Causes Errors: CPD0050 and CPD0046

Technote Number: 1098253

Problem:
Domino Servers running on the AS/400 cannot handle special characters in the
Notes Named Network field. (Domino Servers running on an NT box can handle
special characters in that field).

This field can be found in the Public Address Book. Open the Server document
and, under the Ports tab, go under the Notes Network Ports tab. The field is
called Notes Network. In the below example, both Notes Networks have special
characters; Business-IP has a dash and SPX Network has a space.

NOTE: The "Net Address" should reflect a common name for the server, not an IP
address.

Port Protocol Notes Network Net Address Enabled
TCPIP TCP Business-IP server01 ENABLED
SPX SPX Network address01 DISABLED
LOOPBACK Business-IP loopback ENABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED

Current workarounds:

1. Edit the Server document and remove all special characters from that field,
then bounce the server

Port Protocol Notes Network Net Address Enabled
TCPIP TCP BusinessIP server01 ENABLED
SPX SPXNetwork address01 DISABLED
LOOPBACK BusinessIP loopback ENABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED

2. Edit the Server document and surround the contents of the field in single
quotes, then bounce the server

Port Protocol Notes Network Net Address Enabled
TCPIP TCP 'Business-IP' server01 ENABLED
SPX 'SPX Network' address01 DISABLED
LOOPBACK 'Business-IP' loopback ENABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
SERVERNAME DISABLED
